Architect

Steve began his career working for a local architectural firm while studying Architecture at Long Beach Community College. Several years later, Steve began working for a large Orange County architectural firm specializing in Merchant-Built Housing, Resort, and Hospitality Architecture. During his nearly 20 years with the firm, Steve became Design Principal and the Design Department Managing Director creating high-end single-family and multi-family residential developments, along with custom homes in resort, golf, and coastal communities. His unique designs and innovated building types earned numerous awards throughout the years, including Attached and Detached Communities, and Custom Homes, of the Year in several award programs. Steve became a California State Licensed Architect in 1999.

In December 2009, Steve fulfilled his life-long dream of opening his own architectural practice. Sennikoff Architects is an intimate, design-oriented residential architectural studio specializing in Custom Home, Residential Remodels, ADUs, Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly and Residential Developments.

When not wearing the several hats it takes in running a small business, Steve can be found enjoying time with his two sons. Father-son activities include hunting down the best tacos, exploring record shops, cheering local sport teams, and screaming from the top of an amusement park roller coaster. And free time allowing, Steve can also be found off shore under our local waters, photographing the wonders of the sea.

CHRIS STRAITER

Assistant (to the) Architect

Chris.png

As with the past two years, Chris continues to be a valuable asset at Sennikoff Architects, while on a path in obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering and obtaining his California State License in Architecture.

Chris’ interest in design was sparked as a child playing with Legos. He studied Architecture at Orange Coast College and Woodbury University. His passion for aeronautics was fueled by learning about rockets and watching them, in awe, lift into space.

When not providing valuable essential tasks at Sennikoff Architects, Chris can be found behind the lens of his camera, or in front of a couple of turntables spinning infectious grooves, as photography and music provides Chris with unlimited creativity and freedom.
