STEVEN SENNIKOFF
Architect
Steve began his architectural journey while studying at Long Beach Community College, working for a local firm before moving on to a large Orange County practice specializing in merchant-built housing, resorts, and hospitality design. Over nearly two decades, he rose to become Design Principal and Managing Director of the Design Department, leading award-winning residential projects—from custom coastal homes to high-end multi-family communities. He became a licensed architect in California in 1999.
In 2009, Steve founded Sennikoff Architects to focus on what matters most to him: creating thoughtful, personalized architecture rooted in strong client relationships. His firm specializes in custom homes, residential remodels, ADUs, and residential elderly care facilities. With a design-first approach, Steve built a practice that prioritizes collaboration, creativity, and a deep connection to each client’s needs and lifestyle.
By starting his own firm, Steve found the freedom to partner with individuals to craft designs with purpose and impact; projects that feel meaningful, not just another job. He also built a business grounded in family values, striking a balance between professional excellence and personal connection.
When he’s not in the office, Steve enjoys time with his two sons, whether it’s chasing down the best tacos, digging through vinyl at local record shops, or cheering on their favorite sports teams. Family is at the heart of everything Steve does, influencing both how he lives and how he designs homes meant to support real life, connection, and lasting memories.
CHRIS STRAITER
Project Manager
Chris has been part of the Sennikoff Architects team for over eight years, bringing enthusiasm and precision to every project he’s involved in. Known for his technical mindset and attention to detail, Chris helps keep projects on task and running smoothly. His dedication and problem-solving skills make him a valued member of the Sennikoff team.
Chris’s love for design started early – building with Legos as a kid sparked a lifelong curiosity about how things fit and function. His fascination with space and aeronautics inspired him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, where he continues to expand his technical knowledge and analytical skills. As he works toward his degree, Chris remains a valuable member of the Sennikoff team, applying his methodical approach and attention to detail to every project he manages.
When he’s not managing projects, you can often find Chris behind a set of turntables, DJing for the LA Kings and for an LA Rams booster club. He’s close with his family and loves exploring new restaurants and local spots around town.
RACHEL MCCULLOUGH
Office Manager
Rachel has been keeping Sennikoff Architects running smoothly for the past year – no small feat! She wears many hats around the office, juggling marketing, accounting and human resources with the grace of a seasoned pro (and the occasional cup of strong coffee).
A proud Kansas State University graduate, Rachel holds a degree in Finance and a Bachelor’s in Personal Financial Planning. She brings over 15 years of experience in the financial industry and more than 6 years in graphic design, proving that she’s equally comfortable with spreadsheets and color palettes.
When she’s not keeping the office in tip-top shape, Rachel can be found traveling the world, soaking up sunshine at the beach, cooking up something delicious, or enjoying live music with family and friends.
DUNG CHAU
Job Captain
Dung Chau joined Sennikoff Architects in Spring 2025 as a Job Captain, bringing over 19 years of experience in architectural drafting and documentation. He plays a key role in preparing precise construction drawings and collaborating closely with the design team to ensure projects are executed accurately. Prior to joining Sennikoff Architects, Dung worked at another local architecture firm, where he further refined his technical expertise.
Outside of the office, Dung enjoys running, music, gardening, and travel. He values time spent with his family and especially enjoys making memories with his daughter.
